The 5 Pillars of Empowerment: How to become the most empowered version of yourself
This blog is going to be on how to empower one's self through persistence, dedication, practice, and grit. Becoming the most empowered version of yourself will help make your life easier as well as help you create and achieve the outcomes you want in life. Now, just how exactly do we do that? Easy, by following the 5 pillars of empowerment. Throughout the years, I have come across many beliefs or frames of thinking that have allowed me to perceive the world through a lens and view life from a new perspective. I stumbled upon most of them during my study of NLP and some others by studying and doing research on my own. Mixing them all in one big pot, I've reduced it to what I now call: the 5 pillars of empowerment.
What exactly are the 5 pillars of empowerment? They are:
Cause and effect
Perception is projection
Focus
Taking action
Enforcing boundaries
It's important to note that there is no particular order in which we should look at these pillars. Having said that, it's nice to start with 'cause and effect' because it is very powerful and foundational. In my opinion, these pillars are the real keys to success. A lot of people that are doing rather well in various areas of life, be it business, health, family or relationships, apply these 5 pillars of empowerment in their lives unconsciously. And I’m here to help you make sense of these 5 pillars so that you too can achieve the same success that all these people have.
Let's start with the first pillar: cause and effect. 'Cause and effect' is really about taking maximum responsibility for your world and your results in your universe to rapidly and easily empower you. The next one, which is very similar to cause and effect, is 'perception is projection'. This is an interesting concept from Jungian psychology. Certainly not for shallow thinking, perception is projection allows you to look inside and do deep introspection work to grow and evolve. Both cause and effect and perception is projection enables you to very rapidly stop playing the blame game and take responsibility so that you can take your power back.
The third pillar is focus on what you want. This concept might seem to be super simple on the surface, but I found it to be one of the most frustrating at times. One of the major presuppositions in NLP is that human beings are biological devices designed to create outcomes depending on where our focus is. We human beings create outcomes dependant on where our focus is and anything we focus on in our lives tends to grow. One of the things that's important to note here is that our unconscious mind cannot process negations. For instance, if I tell you, don't think of an orange elephant with a green trunk, what do you think of? Exactly. You can't deliberately not think of something until you think about it first. This is important because when you focus on what you want in life, you'll create more of that in your life, and if you focus on what you don't want, you're eventually going to create more of that.
The 4th pillar is taking action. Again, like focus, it sounds so simple, but you'd be surprised how many people forget this part. I like to refer to it as the secret behind the secret because if you've read the book or watched the movie, you'll notice how it has lots of wonderful and beautiful concepts, strategies and vision boards. Remember that you cannot manifest anything in the physical plane without taking action. It has got to come from the spiritual plane, through the mental, through the emotional and down to the physical. Taking action is key to manifestation and to abundance and all those wonderful things you want in your life.
The 5th and final pillar is enforcing boundaries. Do you know what boundaries are? Boundaries are what you are willing to accept and reject from other people. For example, when you treat someone like a doormat, you are violating that person's boundaries. If you want to manifest or create anything in the physical realm, it is so important, in fact vital, to have good boundaries. There will be times you will be tested around the goals you set for yourself in any context of life and ensuring that you are clear, firm and flexible with your boundaries is the difference that makes a difference when it comes to manifesting and creating and ultimately being empowered.
So this is the brief overview of the 5 pillars of empowerment. These pillars are metaphorically like muscles. You will need to put conscious effort into them and they are going to require work to digest and apply, but I guarantee you, the payoff will be exponentially huge.
Becoming an NLP practitioner is a fast way to incorporate all of these keys into your life. You are in control of your mind and therefore your results. Supercharge your results through these amazing tools of the mind the payoff will be beyond belief. I can personally attest to the amazing changes that are possible with NLP and Hypnosis.
