The acupuncture point "SP 13," known as "府舍" in Chinese and "Fushe" in pinyin, translates to "Bowel Abode" in English. It is located 0.7 cun laterosuperior to SP 12. It also 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline, which is found between CV 2 and CV 3.
SP 13 is considered useful for addressing several clinical conditions such as abdominal pain, abdominal masses (including fibroids and cysts), hernia, and thigh pain. It is known to regulate the liver and qi, providing pain relief.
Although a single acupuncture point is not typically viewed as a comprehensive solution for a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnostic pattern, SP 13 is particularly effective for patients with Liver Qi Stagnation. When integrated into a well-designed acupuncture treatment plan, SP 13 can be beneficial for managing conditions like abdominal pain and leg pain.
