The following is a recap of some of the questions and answers that were made during an episode of the Ask the Doctors Podcast with Dr. Karen Kan & Dr. Dennis Lobstein. These two individuals are amazing contributors to the LifeWave education community and I owe a lot of my learning and understanding around patching to them their continual contribution to the community. I have recapped these questions to help me better learn and digest the information they share on their podcast. I trust you get the same value form them as I have.
During the Q&A session, several callers had inquiries regarding the patching techniques and specific points in relation different symptoms that they have been experiencing, looking for advice to help symptoms using LifeWave patches. Here are the summarized responses provided by Dr. Dennis and Dr. Karen:

Q: Is there a protocol for addressing hearing loss with patches? I've been experiencing significant hearing loss, and muscle testing suggested that Lifewave patches might help. I started using Lifewave patches in April.
A: To target hearing-related issues, begin by exploring tender points around the ear. Check points like Small Intestine 19 in front of the ear for tenderness. Make note of any sore points you find. You can use Y-Age patches, starting with Aeon, Glutathione, or Carnosine. If you have multiple sore points, you can apply one or more patches around the ear.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the ears are considered connected to the kidneys. Therefore, tonifying Kidney 3 can aid with hearing issues, working in synergy with Triple Burner 3. You can place X49 on the right Triple Burner 3 and X39 on the left Kidney 3 to activate both points. Alternatively, you can use Energy Enhancers or IceWave, with white patches on TB3 and tan patches on K13. This approach utilizes the Sky-Earth Paradigm rather than distinguishing left-right.

Q: What patching protocol is best for addressing blurry vision symptoms?
A: Without a detailed medical history, we provide general recommendations:
As the eyes are associated with the wood element, consider patching wood points such as Liver 3 and Gallbladder 40 (the source point for gallbladder) or Gallbladder 37 to support vision. You can use IceWave or Energy Enhancer patches with a white patch on the right and a tan patch on the left. Alternatively, you can use one set with tan on Liver 3 and white on Gallbladder 37. For additional options, substitute tan with SP6C or X39, and white with Aeon or X49.
Locally, you can apply a Carnosine patch on the temples over the affected eye. If both eyes are affected, you can use Carnosine on the left and Aeon on the right. Various points around the eye area are suitable for patch application.
Dr. Karen suggests that using IceWave on both temples can direct energy through both eyeballs, potentially benefiting many individuals more than points above or below the eye. Additionally, sweeping or dredging may help; hold IceWave patches in your palms and sweep around the temples and eyes, moving from top to bottom and in front of the eyes.

Q: My wrist is healing from a fracture, but my entire left hand goes numb occasionally, particularly when I'm active or sleeping. Hanging it down helps regain feeling quickly.
A: The outer and inner frontier gates, namely Triple Burner 5 and Pericardium 6, might offer relief. You've been using X39 on the initial swelling area, and it's been effective. Continue using X39 in this manner. Place X49 on the opposite wrist for energy balance.
Consider the possibility of damage to the retinaculum (fascia), with swelling compressing the nerves and causing temporary numbness. To address this, think about sweeping the lymph upwards. Apply IceWave to the right fingers and sweep up the arm into the armpit area. You can use white on the thumb and tan on the third finger.

Q: A client had a right below-knee amputation due to foot issues, and he experienced bilateral foot pain before that. He's tried IceWave patches in various locations with some positive effects, but he still experiences stabbing pain. He has mild relief under the amputated area using IceWave so far.
A: Dr. Dennis: Option 1: Create a triangle by using Kidney 1 on the left side and Bladder 40 behind both knee areas. Apply a white IceWave patch behind the right stump and a tan patch on the left Kidney 1, with X39 on the left Bladder 40.
Dr. Karen: Consider using Aeon for Brain Balancing, alternating through different points at night or during the day, while continuing with your favorite 2-3 positions.
Option 3: The homunculus, which maps the body on the brain, can be useful. Use patches on your hand to sweep his brain from front to back to reset it. Kidney 9 with an SP6C on the left can help reset the brain.

Q: I have a double curve in my spine, and while adjusting my atlas has helped, I still experience tingling in my left arm. Bending down during yard work makes me feel like I'm eighty years old. I'm taking supplements like fish oil and collagen but not sure about minerals. I practice Qigong.
A: Dr. Karen: Your pain may not solely be due to herniated discs. Consider adding magnesium chloride baths or sprays to relax the fascia, which may help. Tight iliacus muscles could be contributing to your discomfort. If fascia restructuring on one side of the spine is causing it to bulge on the other side, additional salt SOLE or magnesium may aid in relaxing the sinews. Using X39 or X49 may also support the sinews and muscles.
Dr. Dennis: In cases of a convex side indicating a "deficiency" and a concave side indicating "excess," tonify the deficiency and sedate the excess. With IceWave, place the tan patch over the excess and the white patch over the deficiency area. Use X49 on Governing Vessel 14 and X39 further down on the spine around Governing Vessel 2 on the sacrum.

Q: I've been using patches recommended by my acupuncturist for a couple of years. I've had head pain for many years, including constant pressure or pulsing, visual changes, and nausea. What patch positions do you suggest?
A: Dr. Dennis: Begin patching as soon as you notice auric changes. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shao Yang channels (gallbladder and triple burner) may be obstructed, contributing to your symptoms. Start by patching Liver 3, as stagnant liver energy can lead to blockages in Shao Yang channels, causing head issues. You can sweep with IceWave patches from the top of the head down to the neck by placing them in your palms and sweeping. After the energy shift, use patches on Liver and Gallbladder to maintain improvement. You can apply IceWave tan on left Liver 3 and white IceWave on the right Gallbladder 40 or 41, or 8. Place X39 on the left Triple Burner 5 and X49 on the right Triple Burner 5. If the pain is predominantly on the left, use left Gallbladder points with Carnosine or SP6C.
