If you have ever nursed a child with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), you will agree it can be challenging raising a child with ADHD. Their impulsiveness, inattention, and hyperactivity - the 3 core symptoms of ADHD - are often difficult to curtail and they significantly impact various aspects of their life; from school performance to daily routines, virtually no aspect is spared. Because of this, they come off as disorganized, distracted, poor time managers, and poor planners to people around them. For years, experts have focused on behavioral strategies and medications to control the symptoms and quite understandably so because it is believed that ADHD is largely genetic, occasionally environmental in its origin; however, studies are beginning to show that unresolved emotions, limiting beliefs, or past experiences can cause children to manifest symptoms of ADHD and can even add layers of complexity to this already difficult condition.
