As the old saying goes, focus on what you want, you get more on what you want. Focus on what you don't want and you will get more of the alternative.  If your focus is wavering, or facing in a direction that's inverse to what you want to create you're going to be producing results that are unproductive, unresourceful and simply unsatisfactory.
